Next up on our radar is Karlie Noon!
Anyone that knows us, knows how in awe we are of this amazing young woman! Karlie is a proud Gamilaraay woman and grew up in Tamworth, NSW. After finishing high school Karlie went on to graduate from university with a double degree in Mathematics and Physics. In 2016 she began a role at CSIRO's Indigenous STEM Education Project, where she had the opportunity to mentor Indigenous Year 10 students in science and encouraged them to be proud of their rich culture.
A strong message Karlie shares with Indigenous youth is to remind them that they are all a "natural scientist, don't ever doubt that. It's in you. It's in your culture." Karlie is currently on the edge of completing a masters degree in astrophysics, at one of the best universities in Australia with a distinction average! We can't wait to see Karlie continue to reach for the stars!
